Cloud 8
Cloud 8 was an active rock band in the San Francisco Bay Area through the mid-1990s
Cloud 8 won the Northern California Battle of the bands in 1994.
During the years they were together, Cloud 8 recorded a six-song demo tape in 1992 and an album, Feel No Evil, released on CD in 1996. While the band recorded a number of singles and other tracks in the late 90s, those have never been released.
In 2025, bassist Jeff Koski encouraged singer/guitarist Seán to produce one of his favorite Cloud 8 songs that had never been recorded, "Song for Someone." Jon Koski (lead guitar, harmonica) joined them on that single, which was released in 2025 along with a music video that features Seán singing the song at various Fremont, California venues the band had played back in the 1990s.
Cloud 8 band members have shifted over the years, with only Seán Lightholder, Jon Koski, and Jeff Koski persisting. Other band members include Sameer Gupta (drums), Brian Margrave (drums, keys), Greg Matiasevich (Bari sax), Michael Thayer (vocals), and Steve Slater (percussion).
